Before you start
You need three things: a Binatec Autoblog licence (the key arrives by email after checkout), Claude Code signed in with your own Claude plan (Pro usually covers one site at one post a day; more posts or sites need Max), and access to where your site's posts live.
Autoblog writes in Claude Code on your plan. Question discovery, the quality checks, charts, screenshots and publishing run on Binatec's servers, which is why a licence is needed.
Install the plugin
Run these two commands in your terminal, then start Claude Code:
claude plugin marketplace add binatec-agency/autoblog-plugin
claude plugin install autoblog@binatecIn a Claude Code session, run /autoblog:setup. It asks for your licence key, connects your site, and works out your topics and voice with you, one question at a time.
Connect your site
Setup asks how your site is built and walks you through the right steps. In short:
- WordPress (block editor or Classic Editor): create a user with the Author role, then an application password for it (Users > Profile > Application Passwords). Posts arrive as drafts.
- WordPress with Elementor: same as above. If your blog posts use an Elementor Theme Builder single-post template, nothing else is needed. If you edit each post in Elementor, install the free Binatec Autoblog Connector plugin (download at the top of this page) and choose Elementor mode.
- Sites built from a GitHub repo (Jekyll, Hugo, Astro, Next.js, Eleventy and similar): create a fine-grained token for that one repository with Contents and Pull requests set to read and write. Each article arrives as a pull request; merging it publishes it.
- Sanity, Ghost, Contentful, Strapi: create an API token or integration key; setup maps your content type's fields. Articles arrive as drafts.
- Custom-built sites: your developer adds one HTTPS endpoint that receives each finished article (HTML, Markdown and images), signed with a shared secret. See "Custom sites" below.
Passwords, tokens and keys are encrypted on our servers, used only to publish your articles, and you can revoke them at any time.
Your first article
Run /autoblog:write. Claude reads today's brief, finds a question people are searching for, reads the pages that rank for it, researches primary sources, writes the article and runs the checks. You get a draft to review in your CMS (or a pull request) when the run finishes.
Put it on a schedule
Run /autoblog:schedule. It creates a Claude Code scheduled task at the times you chose. For runs while your computer is off, use a cloud task and add two environment variables in its environment, AUTOBLOG_KEY and AUTOBLOG_SITE, and allow network access to api.binatecagency.com.
What's checked before anything goes live
- At least six sources, every number linked to its source, and every cited number and chart value found on that source's page.
- Links only to your own pages and the cited sources; anything else is unlinked.
- No made-up experiences, clients or results, and a real named author.
- House style: no filler phrases typical of AI writing, 1,300+ words, 2 to 6 visuals.
- Daily caps per site, and every post starts as a draft for you to approve. After 10 approved posts you can switch on auto-publish (never for health, legal or financial advice sites).
Custom sites
Autoblog sends a POST request with the article as JSON and the header X-Autoblog-Signature: t=<time>,v1=<HMAC-SHA256 of "<time>.<body>">. Our own images arrive as attachments and appear in the HTML as autoblog-asset://<filename>: store them and swap in your URLs. Stock photos are Unsplash links that must stay hotlinked with their credit. Answer with { "id", "url", "status" }.
Your developer can get the full payload and a reference receiver (Node.js and PHP) from support@binatecagency.com, or ask Claude in the setup session to show it.
Billing, plans and cancelling
Plans renew monthly or yearly in USD. Run autoblog portal (or ask Claude for the billing portal) to change plan, update your card, download invoices or cancel. If you cancel, articles stop at the end of the period you paid for; everything already published stays on your site.
Troubleshooting
- 401 from WordPress: the username or application password is wrong, or a security plugin blocks the REST API. Allow application passwords.
- Fact check fails: the article cites a number the source doesn't show. Claude fixes it by using the exact figure or citing the page that has it; it never rounds a number to pass.
- Daily cap reached: your plan's posts-per-day limit for that site. It resets at midnight UTC.
- Lost your key: run
autoblog recover your@email.comand a new key is emailed to the licence owner.
